TRENDING IN BREAST AUGMENTATION

For several years we have been using Exparel a long acting injectable local anesthetic. We have used this with excellent results for “Tummy Tucks. We are now using this for Breast Augmentation. Most Breast Augmentations today are done by placing the breast implants under the Chest muscle. The pain of Breast Augmentation is due to stretching of this muscle over the implant.
Exparel is made up of multiple tiny spheres of layers of Bupivacaine, a long acting anesthetic that is wrapped with layers of fat. As the fat dissolves, the anesthetic is released into the tissue. This slow release occurs over about three days. Since Exparel has a slow release we also add additional Bupivacaine for immediate pain relief.
The result of this new advance is a uniquely improved experience and faster recovery.
